Welcome to Winkl! These Terms of Service govern your use of the Winkl app and website. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.
1. The service
Winkl is a shared grocery list application that helps households collaborate on shopping lists. The service includes the mobile application (available on iOS and Android) and the website at winklapp.com. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
2. Creating an account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under your account.
- You may create only one personal account. You may not create an account for commercial resale purposes.
- You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
3. Households and shared data
- You can create or join households to share shopping lists with others.
- As a household owner, you're responsible for managing members and shared data.
- When you add or remove items from a shared list, other household members will see these changes.
- You can leave a household at any time. If you're the sole owner and leave, the household may be deleted.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Winkl to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
- Harass, abuse, or harm another person.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service, servers, or networks connected to the service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
- Use the service for any commercial purpose not explicitly permitted by Winkl.
5. Intellectual property
The Winkl app, website, branding, and all content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by Winkl and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
Your shopping lists and household data remain yours. You grant Winkl a limited license to store and process this data solely to provide the service.
6. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policyto understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using Winkl, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Payments and refunds
Winkl is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, pricing and refund policies will be clearly communicated before any charges apply. Standard app store refund policies will apply to any in-app purchases.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. We'll make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action. You may delete your account at any time from the app settings, and your data will be removed within 30 days.
9. Disclaimers
Winkl is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We're not responsible for the content of user-generated shopping lists or for any actions taken based on shared list data.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Winkl and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Winkl after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium.
